Mel Kassel lives in Chicago. She’s a graduate of the Iowa Writers’ Workshop currently at work on her debut story collection and novel.
Her fiction has been published in McSweeney’s Quarterly Concern, Electric Literature, The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction, and elsewhere. Her work has won a World Fantasy Award for short fiction and been anthologized in The Best American Science Fiction and Fantasy 2021.
Occasionally, she appears as a co-host on The Losers' Club: A Stephen King Podcast.
